The feelings of peace and wonder that accompany moments spent alone in the desert wilderness is like nothing else. At times, all one can hear is the soft whistle of the breeze in the ears. Sometimes not even that. The silence in the desert can be deafening, as our ears and minds years for a sound—any sound—to latch onto. It's in these moments of pristine solitude that the visual beauty is at its most intense. Most of the images in this series were made in White Sands National Park, in New Mexico, USA, with a few from Death Valley, California.
